The ending made the film. I've watched this film twice in my life. The scene where the warden threw the chess piece at the wall gave me goosebumps both times. You may want to give up on this film halfway. Tim Robbins' mediocre performance won't help you stay engaged. Power through! The satisfaction of that ending will give you life!
