The Grandmaster centers around Ip Man, the last great kung fu master and highlights other notable martial arts masters during that time through Ip Man's encounters.
Set in the period before, during and post the Second Sino-Japanese War, the film depicts the end of an era for Chinese martial arts through the lens that is Ip Man's life.
