I had doubts. After the reunion dinner scene, I was completely invested. Eva Victor shines through her acting and writing. She's got brilliant comedic timing. She masterfully executed both comedy and drama. Her performance in this film is at the same level as Saoirse Ronan in Lady Bird and Elliot Page in Juno, equally deserving of an Oscar nomination. And Eva did more than just acting. She also wrote the script and directed the film. The script is just as brilliant as her acting. It tackles a tough subject with grace and humor. There are scenes when I'm not sure if I should laugh or be serious. The comedy, humanity, authenticity in every dialogue drew me in, kept me hooked, from start to finish. There are still many films from 2025 to watch. As of today, 4/19/2026, Sorry, Baby is my favorite 2025 film.
