I didn't feel much the first time I saw the film. The second time, I cried non-stop through the second half of the film.

Knowing he was dying, Michael Hess made one last trip to the abbey in Ireland, where he was born and adopted from to look for his birth mother, Philomena. That was the dying man's last wish. The atrocious, self-righteous nuns running the abbey, in the name of good, abiding Catholics, lied to Michael, a dying man, that Philomena abandoned him as a toddler and that they have no way of contacting Philomena. Shortly after the Ireland trip, Michael died. He was forty-three. Michael requested to be buried at the abbey, knowing that one day his mother, Philomena, would find him there. Are you not crying yet?
