I thought long and hard whether to include "non-serious" films on this list. There are a lot of entertaining, "non-serious" films. If I were to exclude films that aren't made with the intention to win Oscars, that's a lot of good films this supposedly best movies of all time list would be missing out on.
Mean Girls, since its release, has become a cultural phenomenon and risen to the status of a modern day American classic. Scenes from the movie are frequently referenced in other media and dialogues are often quoted by celebrities, politicians, to name a few. My favorite quote from the movie is when Regina George compliments Cady Heron, telling Cady that she's pretty. Cady says thank you to which Regina responds, "So you agree? You think you're really pretty." Rachel MacAdams puts up her career best performance as the notable Regina George. She transformed. Regina George isn't like any of the other roles Rachel played in her career. Rachel executed Regina George perfectly. She created an icon. Regina George is hands down the most memorable character from Mean Girls. I didn't realize how good everyone did in this film until I watched Mean Girls 2024. Mean Girls 2024 was an embarrassment. It was so cringey. I can't believe they put that on TV, in theaters. No one from Mean Girls 2024 came close to their 2004 counterpart. Sep. 15, 22. Rev. Feb. 2, 24. Rev. Nov. 12, 24. |
