I remember the hype. I saw the film for the first time a couple years after its release. I was not impressed. I didn't like Elliott Page's acting. I thought the story was dull.
I recently watched the film for the second time. I liked the film a lot more. It's crazy that I didn't like Elliot Page's acting the first time around. He's incredible in this film. Elliot Page did in this film what Saoirse Ronan did in Lady Bird, what Reese Witherspoon did in Legally Blonde. Elliot hard carried. He is effortlessly comedic, personable. He is the best part of the film.
I like the story. The script needed improvement. There was too much singing toward the end of the film.
