Repetition. That is the key to a good psychological thriller. You know, deja vu. You start to feel a little crazy. You've done that thing, been there before. It's like that. Repetition is also great for continuity. When a point from a previous scene is restated, it connects the two scenes together. Continuity. Decision to Leave was the best at repetition.
