I'm surprised that they didn't have Matt Damon play the bad guy in this film.

Bats, disease spreading via respiratory droplets and fomites and at an exponential rate, panic shopping and stocking, masks, gloves, hand sanitizers, quarantining, closing borders, contact tracing, virus mutating, conspiracy theorists, anti-vaccination, alternative medicine, cremation, mass grave, life slowly returning to normal. It's crazy, watching this 2011 film in 2022, having lived through the horrors of 2020. The accuracy of this film is astounding. How did the filmmakers know?

I didn't like the lack of reaction from Matt Damon's character when his wife and stepson died and from Marion Cotillard's character when she was kidnapped. That's on the director.

There are some differences between the film and the COVID-19 pandemic. In the film, the death rate was higher and the civilians were more violent. Vaccines were distributed using a lottery system.
